Objective

Take an existing food brand and develop product variants across different food or beverage options. Use their existing identity and logo form. Logo colors can change.

Brainstorming

For my approach to redesigning the Dole Whip packaging, I was heavily influenced by the flat-art illustrations that are popular in design today. I chose different hues of bright but not overpowering colors that we see every day in real fresh fruits. In addition, the concept has an emphasis on the use of inorganic shapes for patterns to match the two-dimensional illustrations of fruit.

Brand Analysis

The challenge with the existing branding is that the packaging's outdated designs and lackluster character do not capture consumer attention, causing the product to fade into the background rather than stand out in the market for frozen treats.
